Man pulled from canal in Dewsbury
Police had to pull a man from a canal in Dewsbury this morning (Wednesday).
Emergency services were called to Slaithwaite Close in Thornhill Lees at 7.40am after a member of the public spotted the man and was concerned for his safety.
Police officers pulled him from the waters near the Nelson Inn before 7.55am.
He was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital by ambulance but his condition is currently not known.
Police, paramedics and several Hazrdous Area Response Teams are understood to have attended.
