Man rushed to hospital after falling into machinery at bedding factory

A man was freed by emergency services after gettng trapped in machinery in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews were called to bedding manufacturer John Cotton at Nunbrook Mills, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, at around 3.15am.

The man, aged 65, was released from the machine before emergency services arrived.

Crews assisted at the scene and the male was transported to Leeds General Infirmary by ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Fire engines from Mirfield and Rastrick attended as well as the Technical Rescue Unit and support crew from Cleckheaton Fire Station.

Police said the investigation had been handed over to the Health and Safety Executive.
