Thanks for memories

I WISH to thank all those people who have so kindly responded to The Way We Were articles superbly written by Margaret Watson and recently published in this newspaper on various aspecst of the life and times of the village of Briestfield.

A number of readers have contacted me to tell me about their own or their relatives’ memories and life experiences in the village. Our contacts have been from as far away as Queensland, South Australia, the US, London and South Wales as well as locally in West Yorkshire.

The history group is flourishing and is very grateful for all the photos and other items that we have received to-date for our archive.

The group’s long term aim is to set up a website and produce a book about the village and villagers. We still urgently require photos documents and any items of interest including people’s memories and reminisces.
