Operating from a previously unused building, the team has worked around the clock to create a safe space for a local food bank on Warwick Road.

Working in partnership with Kirklees Council and other local organisations, using local knowledge of the area, the group has been able to identify many vulnerable residents.

Yasin Raja, from the group, explained they have received donations far in excess of what they expected and have been able to cover a large area from Hanging Heaton to the top of Batley Carr. To date more than 400 boxes have been delivered and over £1,000 has been raised.
