Police name elderly man found in Mirfield canal
POLICE have released the name of an elderly man whose body was found in a Mirfield canal.
Keith Winters, 82, of Knowl Grove, Mirfield, was found by police divers in the Calder and Hebble Navigation on Monday afternoon.
Officers had started searching the canal earlier that day after a member of the public found personal property, including a coat, beside the water.
A police spokesman said Mr Winters’ death was not being treated as a suspicious and the details had been passed on to West Yorkshire Coroner’s Service.
