Raise a glass to Batley Beer and Music festival this weekend

Batley Beer and Music Festival will return for a second year tomorrow with a fine line-up of ales, ciders and homegrown bands.

Working Chimp Productions host the event at Batley Town Hall in the Market Place on Saturday and Sunday.

Event director Paul Fisher said: “It’s great to plan events like these in our local areas.

People talk to us about their genuine affection for real ale and live music and to know that we can generate all this from local suppliers and musicians is fantastic and great to boost the local economy.

“We have so many bands apply to play we just wish we could accommodate them all.”

The festival will have a varied selection of craft ales and ciders to suit the different tastes of novices and experts.

Prosecco will be available and organisers are also due to run a vodka bar.

Tickets for the event are £5, which includes a first drink and complimentary beer festival glass.

Punters will be able to buy tokens for more beer inside the venue.

It opens at noon on the Saturday and Sunday.
