Bowman and Mark Lennon were told to expect significant sentences for their parts in the shooting in Ravensthorpe.

Leeds Crown Court heard that Bowman, Lennon and a unknown third man visited a house in Clarkson Street on June 10 to take part in some form of illegal activity.

While trying to drive away, Bowman shot at a car blocking their way.

The bullet hit the bonnet and shattered the windscreen, but nobody was injured.

Bowman, of no fixed address, was today cleared of attempted murder, but found guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, ammunition without a firearm certificate and a prohibited firearm.

Jurors acquitted Lennon, 40, of Queenstown Road, London, of attempted murder last Friday after a direction from the Recorder of Leeds.

But today they found him guilty of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, ammunition without a firearm certificate and a prohibited firearm today.

The pair will be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court tomorrow.
