Roadworks to start on Batley Road Bridge

The Highways Agency says that the work involves “essential maintenance” of the bridge, including a resurfacing of the road.

The work will be carried out between 8pm-6am the following morning, in a bid to minimise disruption to rush hour commuters, but the road will be closed between these hours each day as a result.

Fully signed diversions will be in place.

A spokesperson for the Highways Agency said: “From July 15 to August 1 a utility company will be moving communications cables through Batley Road Bridge.

“Between August 11 and August 30, the Highways Agency will be undertaking work to replace bridge joints on Batley Road Bridge, and there will be overnight closures from Sunday to Friday.

No work will take place overnight on Saturdays.”
