The Met Office has issued a Yellow warning for rain across the region, which is expected to be in force until 10pm today (Tuesday).

Forecasters say there will be heavy shows and a risk of localised flooding in parts of West Yorkshire.

The Met Office website said: “Heavy showers, which continued in some areas overnight, will develop more widely again today.

“Some will become thundery, leading to slow-moving downpours across the warning area.

“Some locations will miss these but where they do occur, please be aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel.

Lightning could be an additional hazard.”
