SLIDESHOW: Real ale and music at Batley festival

Real ale and music enthusiasts enjoyed a beer festival over the weekend at Batley Town Hall.

There was a programme of live bands at the venue on Saturday and Sunday as visitors sampled drinks from a range of 14 beers, six ciders and gins.

Ales from brewers including Elland Brewery and Liversedge-based Mill Valley Brewery were served at Batley Beer and Music Festival.

The festival was attended by around 300 people over the two days.

It was organised by Working Chimp Productions, set up around four years ago by Anthony Longstaff and Paul Fisher.

Mr Longstaff said: “We’re a not-for-profit events organisation which helps out bands and artists by organising events like this.

“This was the second festival we’ve don it Batley and we had quite a number of live bands playing.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all the bands and volunteers who helped out.”

Working Chimp also organises Cleckheaton Beer Festival, which will be held at the beginning of September.
