“No Smoking Day is the perfect opportunity to inspire smokers in Kirklees to quit for good.

“In addition to cigarettes, it’s important to remember that tobacco that you don’t smoke (including paan, betel quid and chewing tobacco) is not a ‘safe’ way to use tobacco.

“It causes cancer and can be as addictive as smoking.”

Several different treatments are available from shops, pharmacies and on prescription to help you beat your addiction and reduce withdrawal symptoms.

Speak to your GP or pharmacist for support to stop.

If you want to stop smoking there are also online resources including an app that can support you to stop or cut down.
