Roads

Most roads in Kirklees are clear. A full road grit was carried out at 6pm last night. Priority routes were gritted at 5am this morning.

Gritters are currently returning to grit secondary routes. Kirklees Council say they will grit as many streets as possible while there is a break in the weather, but may struggle on some roads due to parked cars.

Hand gangs are gritting town centres, health centres and doctors surgeries.

The A635, Greenfield Road, leading to Oldham is closed. The A6024, Woodhead Road, leading to Derbyshire is also closed.

Trains

All ticket restrictions have been lifted.

All operators are experiencing delays due to points failures across the network.

Delays through Huddersfield are expected until 6pm due to a broken down train.

No rail replacement transport will operate where services are suspended, due to road conditions.

First TransPennine Express is largely running as normal, but services north of York may be delayed.

Cross Country Services will operate but may be delayed.

The following Northern Rail services have been suspended:

Leeds – Manchester Victoria, via Dewsbury and Brighouse, but services will be running via Bradford

Leeds - Halifax - Brighouse - Huddersfield - Wakefield Westgate, but services to Manchester and Blackpool are running via Bradford

Huddersfield - Wakefield

Halifax – Brighouse – Huddersfield

Barnsley – Huddersfield

All services through Brighouse Station

Services are running, but some will only use main roads where conditions on minor roads and estates are impassable.
