Three marathons run for Ava
A Batley man ran three marathons in three days in memory of a young girl who died from a rare metabolic disorder.
John Mallinson, of Welwyn Avenue, was inspired to take on the charity challenge after Ava Hosier tragically passed away a week before her first birthday earlier this year.
He ran from Carlinghow to Dewsbury, through Gomersal and back to Carlinghow a fortnight ago. He completed the route in a total of 14 hours and 30 minutes.
He raised £1,200 for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice . Some of the money raised will help pay for Ava’s headstone.
