Rail services in West and South Yorkshire are facing disruption this morning after a train derailed.
Cross Country, East Midlands Trains and Northern Rail services have been hit following the incident near Moorthorpe station last night.
Among the routes affected is Leeds to London St Pancras.
National Rail Enquiries said work was ongoing to re-rail the train and repair any damage to the railway, but the line at Moorthorpe was not expected to re-open until approximately 3pm.
The following changes have been put in place:
• Cross Country services will be diverted between Wakefield Westgate and Sheffield, extending journey times by up to 15 minutes.
• The 6.34am East Midlands Train service from Leeds to London St Pancras International will be diverted between Wakefield Westgate and Sheffield, extending the journey time by up to 15 minutes.
• Northern Rail services between Leeds/York and Sheffield via Moorthorpe will be replaced by buses between Wakefield Westgate and Swinton, with journey times being extended by up to 45 minutes.
• Additional trains will run between Wakefield Westgate and Leeds, Thurnscoe and Sheffield and Fitzwilliam and Leeds.
