Train line delays

Early morning commuters in Dewsbury and Mirfield had to use bus services between Huddersfield and Leeds/Wakefield between 6.30am and 7.30am.

This had a knock-on effect for later departures from Dewsbury and Mirfield, with trains to Leeds and Manchester delayed by up to 30 minutes.

The disruption to Northern Rail services was due to engineering works in Huddersfield which had over run.

A fault on the track at Bradley Junction, Huddersfield, took longer than anticipated to repair due to equipment problems.

A spokeswoman for Network Rail said services will return to normal as quickly as possible.
