UPDATE: More than a week since Dewsbury man went missing

A renewed appeal has been made by police for information about a man who has been missing for more than a week.

Daniel France, 38, was last seen in Ravens Avenue, Dewsbury, at 7.40pm on Saturday, March 12.

There has been a possible sighting of him reported in Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury, at approximately 11.15am on Sunday, March 13. A

And police have carried out checks and are reviewing CCTV in Wyke after being told Mr France may have been seen there.

But no contact from him has been reported.

He is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, with short, dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and white and black K Swiss high-top trainers.

He is known to be a drug and alcohol user and has associated health issues, as well as being in otherwise poor health, including having deep vein thrombosis which affects his mobility.

He has no known access to money and has left his mobile phone at home.

Daniel lives in Dewsbury but also has family links in the Leeds area.

Detective Inspector Mark Colman, of Kirklees District CID, said: “It is now over a week since anyone has seen or heard from Daniel. He is known to have drug and alcohol dependency issues and mobility problems and we need to locate him to ensure that he is safe and well and has not come to any harm.

“Anyone who has seen Daniel or with any information about his whereabouts or movements over the last week is please urged to call Kirklees District CID via 101 as a matter of urgency.

“I would stress that he is not in any trouble and would urge Daniel himself to make contact with his family or the police to confirm that he is okay.”
