“The entries into the competition categories were phenomenal. We had a bumper year in the domestic and children’s and flower and vegetable categories. The rabbit and poultry tent was absolutely rammed.”
The main ring provided entertainment throughout the day – with Bob Hogg’s Lamb National proving a hit.
Sheepdog trainer Bob Hogg put on his animal show with a twist as six of his sheep – including Red Ram, Woolly Jumper and Mint Sauce – raced around the show ground, jumping hurdles on the way.

Hundreds of flower, vegetable, domestic and children’s exhibits were displayed in the marquees.
Other attractions included performances by local dance groups, children’s rides, dry stone walling, an owl display, donkey rides, archery and Knottingley Silver Band.
Mrs Bullivant added: “We’ve had lots and lots of positive comments about how people enjoyed the show – it makes it all worthwhile.
“It’s a real team effort where everyone comes together. It’s a team of grafters and do-ers and I’m so proud to be part of it.”
