Witnesses sought after man and son racially abused in park

A man and his son were left shocked and upset after racial abuse was shouted at them in a Batley park.

The incident occurred near the children’s play area in Wilton Park at around 5.30pm on Sunday September 14.

The suspect has been described as white, in his 20s, of skinny build, and around 5ft 8ins tall.

He had ginger or blonde hair and was wearing a grey hooded top.

PC Louise Hurst from Batley NPT said: “The male victim and his son were left shocked and upset following this incident.

“We take a robust stance against any kind of racial abuse, and therefore we want to trace this suspect.

“Anyone with any information about who this man may be, or any witnesses, can contact me on 01924 295 301.”
