Gibril Bojang bagged his 19th goal of the season but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 2-1 defeat to Thackley in the NCE League Premier Division.

Defeat was Liversedge’s 26th of the season and they now seem destined to finish the season in 20th place with two fixtures remaining.

Mike Garrod gave Thackley a 55th minute lead and Chris Davey doubled the visitors’ advantage after 70 minutes.

Bojang replied with his 19th goal of the campaign five minutes from time and he will hope to reach the 20 landmark in the Clayborners’ final two games, away to Albion Sports on Saturday and home against title chasing Tadcaster Alhion on April 26.

Liversedge remembered the Hillsborough disaster by holding a minute’s silence at 3.06pm before kick-off of last week’s derby, while youngsters from local clubs and schools were mascots at the game and staged mini five-a-side games during half-time.
