Dewsbury’s Sykes will be attempting to win the title and claim the Lonsdale belt outright.

Sykes weighed in for the contest at 9st 3lb 3oz, while opponent Kays was bang on the 9st 4lb limit.

There was brief drama at Dewsbury Town Hall earlier when scales supplied by the British Boxing Board of Control initially had both men over the limit.

Fans wanting to watch the fight at Dewsbury Sport Centre can buy tickets on the door, but are advised to arrive early.

Tickets are priced £35 normal admission and £70 ringside.

Doors will open at 6.30pm, with boxing due to commence at 7.30pm.

Catering and bar facilities have been brought in to cope with demand, with more than 800 fight fans expected to be present.

Bars in the sports centre will also be screening the Champions League football.
