Dewsbury arebuzzing ahead of campaign

DEWSBURY Rams are buzzing with anticipation as the club aim to improve on and off the filed.

While Dewsbury have created a good deal of excitement by enticing Australian Glenn Morrison and a host of new signings, behind the scenes hard work is ongoing to improve the club’s image.

Last Saturday, the Rams invited fans to an open day at Tetley’s Stadium, when supporters flocked to buy new club merchandise.

Morrison and club mascot Roger Ram were on hand to sign autographs and pose for photographs, while dozens of fans placed orders for the new home shirts, which will commemorate the 1973 Championship winning side.

Coach Morrison said: “Everyone is doing their best to make the club better both on and off the field.

“The fans are buying into it by getting hold of shirts and season tickets and they have been turning up to a number of different events that we have put on.

“There is a real buzz about the place and we will be now looking to do the same on the pitch.”

It promises to be an exciting Championship campaign for the Rams, with 13 new signings joining Morrison’s revolution.

Following the trip to Batley on Boxing Day, the Rams have two pre-season home games as preparations for the new season gather pace. They entertain Halifax on January 6, followed by Bradford Bulls on January 13.

The club are also planning a number of events to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of their Championship victory over Leeds at Odsal.
