Celtic edge into top four after tight win

BATTYEFORD Airedale Celtic moved up to fourth place in Wakefield League Division One following a 3-2 victory over Inns of Court last Saturday.

They are now just two points behind third placed Prince of Wales with two games in hand, while they are three behind Black Swan Normanton after Tim Hudson, Tim Bruce and Lee Halstead scored to secure their win.

In Division 1, ALC had an 8-3 victory over Ravensthorpe Bulls after leading 4-1 at half-time.

Des Dixon, Aaron Irvin and Karl Hall scored two goals each with the others coming from Ashley Dutton and an own goal.

Brian Ryland, Dean Madden and Dominic Simpson scored for Bulls.

Norfolk beat Bulls Head Dewsbury 4-0. Bham netted a hat-trick and Kyle Audsley also scored.

Howden Clough drew 3-3 with Fairbank Res after leading by three goals at half-time.

Naveed Khan scored two and Mazhar Iqbal one for Fairbank.

Inter Batley drew 2-2 with Cleckheaton Sporting. Alan Wilks and Tim Wilkinson scored the fightback goals for Cleck.

BD3 beat Soothill 4-2 thanks to goals from Sultan Khan, Ismail Malik, Bilaal Hussain and Sajia Khan.
