Garry Monk, who has picked a 24-man squad for the pre-season trip to Ireland.

Recent signings Marcus Antonsson and Kyle Bartley are both included along with several promising youngsters, including 17-year-old midfielder Ronaldo Vieira and striker Eoghan Stokes, although winger Stuart Dallas misses out as he has been given time to get over his exertions with Northern Ireland in Euro 2016.

During their trip to Ireland the Whites will play friendlies against Shelbourne and Shamrock Rovers, but the trip has the aim of valuable team bonding and giving new boss Garry Monk time to assess the players he has.

Monk has already brought in striker Antonsson and centre-back Bartley and will run the rule over 22-year-old French attacker Hadi Sacko, who is believed to be training with the United squad in Ireland.

The squad in Ireland is:

Goalkeepers: Marco Silvestri, Ross Turnbull, Bailey Peacock-Farrell.

Defenders: Sol Bamba, Kyle Bartley, Gaetano Berardi, Liam Cooper, Lewie Coyle, Tyler Denton, Paul McKay, Charlie Taylor.

Midfielders: Jordan Botaka, Lewis Cook, Toumani Diagouraga, Alex Mowatt, Luke Murphy, Kalvin Phillips, Alex Purver, Ronaldo Vieira.

Strikers: Marcus Antonsson, Souleymane Doukara, Lee Erwin, Eoghan Stokes, Chris Wood.
