Tingley Tigers still in hunt for the title

TINGLEY Tigers Under-13s earned a 6-2 win against Kippax in their last home game of the season to put them one game away from winning the league.

Tingley were the better team in the first half not allowing Kippax into the game, their efforts were rewarded with a fine goal from Cross into the bottom corner of the net.

Tingley were awarded a penalty which Hull converted to extend their lead.

There was some outstanding touch football from the Tigers’ own half which featured most of the players and ended in a header from Woollin to extend their lead to 3-0.

Wilson’s strike then made it four before half-time.

Tingley started the second half well and looked comfortable.

However, the visitors had other ideas with strong tackles which rocked the home team.

Kippax managed to pull one back when goalkeeper Pritchard was bundled over after he had caught the ball, the ball ran loose and it rolled across the line.

There was no need to fear though as Woollin notched two quick goals in reply to give him his hat-trick.

A lapse at the back gifted the visitors a second consolation goal.

The whole team played well, MoM was Garside while special mention goes to Robinson and Hammond.
