Jardy Boys still in race for Spen Valley League Premier crown

JARDY Boys are two points behind Bradford at the top of the Spen Valley League Premier Division after a 4-1 win at home to mid-table Fairbank.

The Jardy scorers were Mirnen Medid, Jonny Beverley, Rob Ives and Oliver Mitchell while Bilal Saleer hit Fairbank’s consolation.

Thornhill United Seniors A led 3-0 going into the final three minutes of the game, thanks to goals from Tristan Kennedy, Danny Craven and Tom Hirst, but Mount Athletic battled back to score twice.

West Bradford Spartans edged out third-placed BD3 United 4-3, rallying from 3-1 down at half-time. The Spartans finished the stronger team thanks to a brace by Bobby Canning and one each for Brendan Malby and Chris Haigh. BD3 scorers were Aman Yasin, Ishaq Hussaub and Ihdisham Yasin.

Ravensthorpe Rangers drew 1-1 with bottom of the table Quarry (Jason Hinchcliffe). Kieran Jagger stood out for Quarry while Rangers’ goal came from Zah.

Atif Shehzad scored the only goal of the game for Girlington against his former club TVR.

In Division One Oakwell, who are second, enjoyed a 5-0 win over Ravenswharfe Hotel. Luke Newsome scored twice and there was a goal each for David Martin, Ashley Barnes and Aiden Bennett.

Leaders Vision were 4-0 winners over Thornhill United Seniors B thanks to Chris Lever (two), Aaron Kershaw and Joe Petenerl.

ALC won 3-2 win against Bradford All Stars.

Savile United won 2-1 against Inter Batley. Faisal Adam scored for Savile – Inter’s goals came from Arshad Navsarka and Faeh Laher.

Marsh beat Norfolk 3-1 with strikes from Mark Wrigley, Richard Harvey and Michael Padgett to stay in third place.

Howden Clough succumbed to an 8-0 defeat at the hands of BD3 Reserves. The goals came courtesy of a Shereaz Mahmood hat-trick, two for Sukhdeep Singh and one each for Shummrell Udin, Sofian Khan and Ibraheem Betraoui.
