Kirklees Council warn sports clubs to check facilities

KIKRLEES Council’s parks and landscapes department have issued a statement warning clubs about possible problems regarding changing facilities.

Many of the 30-plus changing rooms that Kirklees control have suffered from burst pipes in the thaw, which has resulted in severe damage to plumbing systems, ceilings and floors.

Many of the sites are so badly affected that they will not be operable for some time while repair work is completed.

As it may not be possible for the council to contact all the teams affected over the holiday period, some teams may turn up expecting to use the facilities only to find a notice pinned to the door advising them of the position.

The council are to issue a list of sites affected in the near future but clubs are asked to take care to thoroughly inspect their facilities.
