Leaders Thornhill held to draw as Pool close in

Thornhill’s lead at the top of West Yorkshire League Division One has been cut to a single point after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Old Modernians.

Lee Brook and Aiden Schofield scored for Thornhill but they are now just a point ahead of second placed Pool, who overcame Featherstone Colliery 4-1 last week and have three games in hand on the leaders.

Wyke Wanderers are up to fourth place, five points behind Thornhill, after a 1-0 win over Swillington Saints.

Hartshead are six points clear at the top of Division Two following last week’s 4-2 victory over Ossett Common Rovers.

Jamie Wasley bagged a brace for Hartshead, who also had Owan Asquith and Liam Gowan on the scoresheet.
