STEVE Auty’s fine knock of 43 went unrewarded as Moorlands A lost by 36 runs at home to Caribbean A in Central Yorkshire League Division 3.
Sam Kent (3-38) led the attack as Caribbean posted 193-9 and despite the efforts of Auty, Moorlands were restricted to 157-9.
Relegated Hopton Mills A were beaten by 188 runs in their visit to promotion chasers Wakefield St Michael’s A.
James Woodward (4-50) and Philip Bland (3-47) were unable to stop Saints easing to 246 all out, a score that eclipsed Mills’ reply of 58.
An innings of 82 failed to trouble Westwood Park A as Scholes lost by 10 wickets.
Danny Russon hit 24 for Scholes but Park’s openers stood firm to secure victory.
With unbeaten leaders Oulton A out of sight, Liversedge A and Mirfield A are in the race for the second promotion spot in Division 4.
Liversedge, currently four points clear in second, will go up should they win at East Leeds A on Saturday while Mirfield must get a result against champions Oulton to stand any chance of promotion.
Mirfield were out-classed by nine wickets at East Leeds last weekend, after the visitors’ lowly 48 was beaten by a reply of 50-1.
Liversedge suffered a 68-run loss to Adwalton A, who put 196-8 onto the scoreboard.
Adam Clarke (3-30) and Russell Clarke (3-37) stood out with the ball for Liversedge but the hosts could only muster 130 in reply, Phil Gould (38) leading the way.
