Old Bank bid to blunt Plough

OLD Bank WMC bid to lift the Wakefield League Division Two Cup tonight (Friday) as they meet Plough in the final at Lock Lane, Altofts, kick-off 7.30pm.

They saw their hopes of a league and cup double ended last Saturday as Plough claimed the title with a 3-2 win over Wortley Reserves while Old Bank lost by the same score at Wagon.

Four points from their remaining four league games will guarantee Old Bank second place in the division.

In the Premier Division, Dewsbury Rangers moved off the foot of the table after a fine 5-3 home win over Woodman.

Gareth Smith struck twice for Rangers, who also had Rob Smith, Trevor Thomas and Chris Sugden on target. Hutton (two) and Pickles replied for the visitors.

Battyeford Wasps are bottom after a 13-2 defeat at leaders Gate while Thornhill lost 3-0 at Garforth WMC. Dewsbury Rangers Reserves are ninth in Division Three after their 11-0 loss at bottom-club Snydale Athletic Reserves.
