Dewsbury Rams display 'wasn't good enough' in defeat to Halifax Panthers

The away side scored five tries and kicked a further three penalties to inflict the heaviest defeat of the season on Dewsbury and extend their losing run to three games.

Greenwood admits the defeat is all part of the learning process for his side, with many of the players stepping up from the lower leagues to try and make it in the Championship.

“We don’t have loads of cash here so we can’t just go out and buy ready-made Championship players,” he said.

“We are always having to make Championship players with them being brought in from lower leagues.

“This is part of the learning process where you can’t just turn up one week and not the next. We have to coach and teach the players into becoming Championship regulars.

“I hope the players have gone home disappointed and angry at that performance because it wasn’t good enough.”

Greenwood admits there were no positives to take from the fixture, adding: “All the teams in the bottom half or bottom third will have games like these if you are not on it.

"I can’t take anything from that. We will hopefully get a few bodies back, that is the only positive I can take.”
