Pitches closed
KIRKLEES Council has advised that football and rugby matches played on Council-managed and school pitches will be cancelled this weekend.
The heavy snow has resulted the pitches being in an unplayable icy condition and the council has taken the decision to cancel all matches this weekend.
The council stressed the importance of inspecting the safety of the ground condition prior to playing any games and the grounds maintenance staff will be making extra effort to prepare the pitches for next weekend’s fixtures.
All this weeekend’s WRCA League games are also called off, the fixture list with exceptions for Sheffield Cup matches will be played next, Saturday, December 11 and those games will be re-arranged.
