Rams can take confidence into York clash

DEWSBURY Rams will go into next Friday’s Co-operative Championship clash away to York City Knights full of confidence following Thursday’s superb effort against league leaders Halifax.

The Rams produced their best display of the season but were edged out 34-24 by two late Halifax tries.

Rams coach Warren Jowitt was full of praise for his side’s effort and believes they are still capable of reaching the end of season play-offs.

Jowitt said: “We will now look to build on that and the confidence the (Halifax) game has given us.

“We have only had three bad games all season and that is not a bad ratio and I am happy with the way things are going.”

Jowitt handed a debut to Daley Williams last Thursday after he was released by Batley Bulldogs and the coach was happy with his new signing adding: “Daley Williams played well and should have scored a try and I was very impressed by him.”

Next Friday’s clash at York kicks off at 8pm. A supporters coach will leave Dewsbury bus station at 6pm and Tetley’s Stadium at 6.15pm. To book a seat call Elsie Fryer on 01924 444407.
