DEWSBURY DISTRICT Cricket League held their six-a-side cricket finals day at Sands Lane last Sunday.

Ravens Star took the honours edging out Kismat. The man-of-the-final was Vinod Minhas and the man-of-the-tournament was Farruk Alam.

This Saturday, July 16, the league hold the semi-finals of the Twenty20 competition at Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Crown will take on Warwick and Scout Hill face PKWA. The semi-finals begin at noon and the final will be held at approximately 3.30pm.

Scout Hill earned their place in the last four when they defeated Fox’s Biscuits by 80 runs.

Sahbbir and Usman gave Scout Hill the edge with innings of 53 and 52 respectively as they made 234. Despite Fox’s opening batsman Farhan Ali making 42 and Nisar Ahmed 35, it wasn’t enough and Scout Hill’s Tahir delivered the final blows to finish with 5-19 from seven Overs. Iqbal claimed 2-14 also in seven overs.

Dates for the diary include Sunday July 24 when the B Cup final will be played at Batley CC between Birkby Rose Hill and Friends XI with a 1.30pm start.

On Sunday July 31 the PKWA Cup Final will also be held at Batley between Raven Star and Scout Hill.
