Rawat wicket crucial as Mount move second

Mount moved up to second place in the Huddersfield Central League Premier Section last Saturday thanks to victory over Penistone A.

Although Mount won by 50 runs, it was only a wicket off the final ball of the match by Anees Rawat (3-26) that saw them dramatically claim maximum points.

Heckmondwike & Carlinghow B suffered a 132-run defeat to Upperthong B in Section B.

R Hirons made 63 not out as Upperthong reached 208-5, despite Andy Pickett’s 2-42.

Muhammad Hashmi (25) top scored in reply but Heckmondwike were bowled out for 76 and will aim to bounce back at home to Birchencliffe B in Section C on Saturday.

Ajmal Hussain fell agonisingly one run short of a century in Ajmal’s reply as they were bowled out for 184 with Banares Saddique claiming 3-32.

Farhan Ali hit 87 not out and Hasan Ali Hab 51 not out as PKWA racked up 212-7 before dimissing Dewsbury Young Star for 150, while Ismail Patel made 66 as Kismat A reached 178-9 and then bowled Ideal Star out for 126.
