Buchanan set to make 150th career appearance

Winger Austin Buchanan could be in line to make the 150th appearance of his professional rugby career when Dewsbury Rams entertain Swinton Lions tonight (8pm).

Buchanan is Dewsbury’s longest serving player , currently in his eighth season at the Rams, and last Sunday’s appearance in the 30-22 defeat at Leigh was his 126th for the club.

Buchanan played four times for London Broncos in 2003, seven for Wakefield between 2005-2006 and 12 for York in 2006.

Buchanan has played in Dewsbury’s last six games, scoring three tries, including one on his return against Halifax on May 25 which helped the Rams record a thrilling 20-18 victory over their high-flying West Yorkshire rivals.
