The Rams struck first early on were well in touch at half-time as they only trailed 16-6 and had high hopes of claiming at least a bonus point.

However, they had little answer after the break as Fax produced a scintillating second half display to run in 44 unanswered points.

Scott Hale gave Dewsbury an early lead with a try which Dale Morton converted by with ex-Hull KR man Scott Murrell pulling the strings, Halifax were soon back in the game.

Murrell sent full-back Ryan Fieldhouse over for an unconverted try to reduce the deficit before Anthony Thackeray went in for two quickfire scores, both converted by Lee Paterson, to put the home side ahead.

Four minutes after the re-start came the decisive blow as Rob Worrincy collected a kick and raced 60 metres to score and it proved a setback the Rams couldn’t recover from.

Halifax played some superb rugby which led to further tries from Worrincy, loose forward Ashall and Fieldhouse.

Steve Tyrer took over the kicking duties as the home side led 36-6 after 56 minutes.

The onslaught continued as Halifax scored at a point-a-minute in the final 24 minutes.

Worrincy completed his hat-trick, while there were further tries from Tyrer, Ross Divorty and Ashall as the home sent out a clear message of their Championship credentials this season.
