Dewsbury Rams part company with Warren Jowitt

WARREN Jowitt has left Dewsbury Rams.

The Co-operative Championship club confirmed his departure today with Rams’ top-six hopes all-but over following Sunday’s 34-6 loss at Keighley Cougars.

Jowitt had intended to leave Tetleys Stadium at the end of the season but brought his departure forward to allow Dewsbury to start their search for a new head coach immediately.

“It has been a good learning curve and grounding as a coach and this should help me in my career,” said Jowitt.

“A special thanks go to my assistant coaches and Jack Addy for all their help during my time in Dewsbury.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed myself during my time here but I think it’s time for me to move on.

“I would like to wish Dewsbury all the best for the future.”

Matt Walker and Adam Hayes, Jowitt’s assistants, have also left the club.

Rams are looking to appoint a temporary head coach by Friday, in time for Sunday’s home league game against Batley Bulldogs, who will remain in place until the end of the season.

The club will begin advertising the vacant position on Monday.
