The crunch game between the two play-off chasers was brought forward from Sunday to be shown live but the television company have now decided to screen a Europa League football match between Linfield and Xanthi instead.

The match, at Whitehaven’s Recreation Ground, will still kick off at 7.30pm and a recording will now be shown ‘as live’ at 10pm after the football.

Rugby League supporters and subscribers to Premier Sports, who show Championship games exclusively live, took to social networking website Twitter to express their disappointment that the Rams game will not now be shown live.

Meanwhile Rams coach Glenn Morrison has described tomorrow’s trip to Cumbria as ‘another Grand Final’ as Dewsbury seek to secure their place in the top eight.

The Rams are currently seventh but are only four points ahead of ninth-placed Doncaster.

Morrison said: “This is another Grand Final game because Whitehaven are around the same place as us in the table.

“We’re still in with a chance of the play-offs and this is going to be a really tough one.

“Whitehaven is not the best place to go on a Thursday night, but we’ve got to make the best of it.”

Lucas Walshaw (ankle), Tommy Gallagher (ankle), James Craven (back) and Brad Watkinson (knee) are all facing a race to be fit for tomorrow’s clash.
