The duo were not offered extended professional contracts following the break up of the Super League senior academy competition but both are players coach Glenn Morrison rates highly.

Utility forward Farrell began at Huddersfield Giants, where he came onto Morrison’s radar during his spell coaching Wakefield Wildcats Under-20s.

Following a stint playing in Australia, Farrell was at Bradford Bulls last year but has opted to join the Rams.

Nolan was with the Bulls Under-19s last season but is now overage and will look to rekindle his hopes of a Super League return at Dewsbury.

Morrison is excited by his new recruits, saying: “The Championship is getting stronger all the time, due to talented boys like these coming into the competition.

“They would still be at Super League clubs but for the reconstruction of the age groups.

“I’m sure the Bulls will keep a keen eye on how they perform for us.”

Farrell and Nolan are permanent signings for the Rams and have been handed squad numbers 25 and 26 respectively.

Dewsbury announced a squad of 26 last week but there is scope to add one more player.

The no4 jersey has been left blank after Brad Watkinson decided against returning from New Zealand next season for family reasons.

That appears to indicate there could be one further addition to Morrison’s squad prior to the start of the new season.
