Hellewell has joined the Rams on an initial one-month loan from Featherstone Rovers and could go straight into the squad for tonight’s visit of lowly Swinton.

A further boost for Glenn Morrison sees in-form centre Shane Grady become the latest player to agree a deal which keeps him at the Rams for the 2015 season.

Grady is in his first season with the club after joining from London Broncos and he has scored tries in the Rams last three matches.

Hellewell played academy rugby at Bradford Bulls and Warrington Wolves and scored two tries in Scotland’s World Cup game with Italy last year and was also involved in their quarter-final clash with New Zealand.

Morrison said: “With some bumps and bruises to our squad we have moved to bring Ben in.

“Ben had a great World Cup campaign and will add great cover and experience to our squad.”

On Grady securing his future with the Rams, Morrison added: “We’re very pleased to have Shane on board for next season.

“He has been a stand-out performer this season, playing both centre and second row, and I’m sure he’ll be a valuable player for us moving forward.”

Dewsbury lie seventh in the Championship but victory over the relegation threatened Lions would see Morrison’s climb back to fifth.
