Morrison appeals for Rams fans to rally round

The game kicks off later than usual at 6pm to accommodate the Premier Sports cameras but Morrison believes the crowd will have an important part to play.

Morrison said: “It is great that we are showing our brand on TV but I hope the people still come out in numbers to support us.

“The crowd can be our extra man and we will look to give them something to cheer.”

Dewsbury go into the game buoyed by last week’s hard-fought 22-16 victory at Doncaster when Aaron Brown and Adam O’Brien scored a brace of tries apiece.

Brown, a close season signing from Leeds Rhinos, was also named player of the round as the Rams made a terrific start to the new season.

Morrison added: “It was good to get the points in the bag and at the end of the season that could be the difference in getting the eighth spot.”

Morrison was delighted to capture the signing of former Bradford Bulls and Wigan three-quarter Karl Pryce on the eve of the new season.

Pryce didn’t feature at Doncaster, having only completed the signing last Saturday, but he will certainly come into the reckoning for Sunday’s visit of Featherstone.

Morrison added: “I left the decision up to Karl but he has made the choice to come and play with us this season.

“He has scored 50-plus tries in 70 Super League games and if he can do something similar for us it will be a massive boost.

“Karl will certainly come into the reckoning this week but it will be tough to drop anyone after we’ve won.”

Dewsbury could also have a number of Bradford Bulls players available after they named their 19-man squad for tonight’s trip to Hull FC.
