Rams give Morrison a selection dilemma
Several of the squad have staked claims to be included in the 17-man squad with some impressive displays in Dewsbury’s four pre-season matches.
The Rams were outstanding in their final warm-up game last week as they outclassed full-timers London Broncos to run out 34-0 winners.

Hide AdMorrison joked: “I’ve got a dartboard up in my office so may end up throwing darts to see who is in this week.”
Although on a serious note, the coach will have to whittle down at least 20 players to just 17, and he added: “We had 19 playing against London and also had Paul Sykes pull out late on so I have got to drop two out of the squad and also try and fit Sykesy in there somewhere, so I’ve definitely got a headache”.
Newly promoted Swinton have been forced to switch Sunday’s clash to Salford’s AJ Bell Stadium (ko 3pm) as their Sedgley Park ground will not be ready in time.
Morrison admits this could help play into the Rams’ hands as they look to produce an expansive brand of rugby.

Hide AdMorrison added: “The Salford pitch is good, nice and wide, and I think our best rugby will come when the pitches start drying up.
“I wanted the result against London and wanted us to put a marker down, so the players have done what I asked but we need to build on that momentum now.
“We know that win doesn’t put two points on the table but it is a great momentum builder going into this week and if we can play like that, we can be a match for any team, we just need to keep performing, build the consistency and play like that every week and we won’t be too far off.”
