Andy Kain scored three tries as second-placed Rovers recovered from 16-6 down after 26 minutes to cut Leigh’s lead to four points. The Centurions have a game in hand which they play on Wednesday when they host Halifax.

Dewsbury saw their three-match winnning run come to and end but they had the consolation of collecting a bonus point courtesy of Tom Hemingway’s last minute penalty goal.

The Rams shrugged off the early loss of influential skipper Wayne Goidwin (broken arm) to take a 10-0 lead with tries from Dale Morton and Anthony Thackeray, with an 85-yard interception.

Kain bagged his first before Dewsbury struck again when Scott Hale crossed and Jordan Grayston kicked his second goal.

Featherstone bounced back when debutant Ben Blackmore grabbed the first of his two tries.

Kain’s second try in the 46th minute then put them ahead for the first time.

Dewsbury’s Makali Aizue and Featherstone’s Ian Hardman scored late tries before Hemingway’s second goal, after the final hooter had sounded, earned the Rams a bonus point.
