Sawyer hoping fans back ‘terrific’ season ticket deal

Chairman Mark Sawyer told supporters at last Sunday’s fans’ forum that the club have decided not to increase prices from last season, although the VAT increase, which came into force on January 1, means ticket prices will rise slightly.

Adult standing season tickets will cost just £80 if they are bought up to December 1, with adult seating tickets at £95.

Season tickets will include all 10 home league games, two home Northern Rail Cup group games and the Challenge Cup third round tie, either home or away.

The deal includes all reserve team games, while Rams fans will also be able to attend any Batley Bulldogs home game, not involving Dewsbury, for just £5.

Mr Sawyer said: “We are desperate for funds, like a lot of other clubs, but we also want people to come and watch us. The club is not a club without supporters and we want them to come and support the team, which is why we offer such a terrific deal.

“There was a cracking turnout at the fans forum with more than 150 people attending.

“We had around 100 applications for season tickets with 20 paying for them up front, which is a great start.”

The Rams have also introduced an intiative that means anybody aged 16 to 18 can buy a season ticket at the concession rate of £65 (standing) and £80 (seating).

Mr Sawyer added: “We realise that some young people may not be able to afford an adult season ticket, so we have introduced this offer to help them continue to support the Rams.

“We didn’t want to lose them because they couldn’t afford the adult rate.”

Anybody in the 16-18 year old category must produce identification when buying their season ticket and will also have to provide a photo.

Once again, anyone Under-16 can buy a season ticket for just £25 and that includes all home and away fixtures.

The Rams have decided not to increase matchday admission, which will remain at £13 (adult) standing or £14 seating.
