Scholes were bowled out for 117 in reply as Awais Ejaz took 4-2, despite the efforts of Yasir Ali, who top scored for the home side with 33.

The final six Scholes wickets fell for just 18 runs and victory kick started a fruitful bank holiday weekend for the South View Road men, who have climbed out of the bottom two thanks to back-to-back victories.

Morley, who started last Saturday in second place, were dismissed for the day’s lowest Premier Division score of 68 as they suffered a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of improving Farsley.

James Wainman, the left-arm bowler who played for Yorkshire Vikings in their Natwest Blast defeat by Leicestershire Foxes on Friday, helped reduced Morley to 12-4.

Ben Jenkinson (28) offered brief hope of a revival before the last four wickets fell for eight runs and Morley were dismissed in 27.5 overs.

Musafa Rafique (4-5) capitalised on the earlier good work of Wainman (3-15).

Although Farsley lost three wickets in reply, opener James Pickles (30) and Ryan Cooper (25no) helped them race to their modest victory target in just 17.2 overs.
