Josh Warrington retained his English featherweight title with a terrific victory over Devon’s Jamie Speight at a packed Leeds Town Hall on Friday.
Leeds star Warrington, who trains out of the Central Boxing Club in Batley, dominated the fight from the first bell in front of his vociferous home following.
Speight was left with a cut right eye but battled on bravely and fully deserved to hear the final bell after 10 gruelling rounds.
Warrington was awarded the fight 100-91 on two judges cards and 100-90 on the third to the delight of his fans.
Having been presented with his English title belt in the ring, Warrington took the announcers microphone and thanked his superb following for roaring him to victory.
